From Afghanistan to Syria to Ukraine, photojournalist Lynsey Addario has spent the last two decades bearing witness to some of the world’s most urgent humanitarian and human rights crises. While on assignment for the New York Times in 2011, she was kidnapped and held hostage by the Libyan army. Addario has been a champion for women’s issues worldwide. She is the author of the best-selling memoir It’s What I Do and the subject of the 2025 National Geographic documentary Love + War.
